Parks and Recreation Committee
Questions about park use should be addressed to the Township Clerk’s Office. Group or organization use requires that an application be completed along with any required security deposit or fees and insurance documents. Applications must be filled out and presented 45 days in advance of any scheduled event. The completed information must be filed with the Township Clerk’s Office at our Municipal Building on Route 40. The Clerk then submits any requests to the Recreation Committee for approval prior to use.
Michael Debbi Park is located on Cedar Avenue in Richland. Michael Debbi Park is our largest park facility offering a wide array of activities and amenities. The park has a street hockey rink, basketball and tennis courts, baseball, softball and football fields. There is a paved walking path for your enjoyment. 
The park is also home to the Buena Braves Athletic Association. Our football field is named in honor of longtime Buena Braves Coach Aldo Falasca. Play equipment includes swings, sliding board, and other children’s activities.
There is a Special Events Center gazebo where Summer Concerts and other events take place. The Veterans Pavilion and “Court of Honor” provides a picnic area and public gathering point. The Veterans Pavilion and “Court of Honor” is named in honor of all members of the military who have served in all wars from Buena Vista. Michael Debbi Park features a kitchen and numer0us pavilions that are used during our Independence Day Celebration and other events throughout the year. The Bob James Softball Field, was dedicated during the Independence Day Celebration of July 2, 2000. “Sam Brunozzi Way”, the main driveway into Michael Debbi Park features an antique light fixture, bench and shrubbery display in honor of one of our former mayors. The “Michael Debbi” Park was named after our long time Road Supervisor Michael Debbi who helped build our parks and roads in Buena Vista Township.
Saw Mill Park, is located on Route 40 between Fir and Greenbriar Avenues in Richland Village. This park features a gazebo, steel Conrail train caboose, children’s play train, a 225+ year old giant oak tree along with both a 9/11 and Veterans Memorial. The 1.7 acre park is adjacent to the Patcong Valley Model Railroad Building which includes the Buena Vista Township Visitors Center. There is also a historic wooden Jersey Central train caboose located next to the Patcong Building.
John W. Quigley Park is located on Cains Mill Road in Collings Lakes next to the Collings Lakes Elementary School. The park features a street hockey rink, basketball and tennis courts, swings and other playground equipment. There is also a picnic area. On the other side of the Collings Lakes Elementary School the Township also owns a baseball and softball field that is used by our residents after school hours.
Wilder Hines Park is located on Jackson Road in Newtonville. This park is built on a 20 acre piece of land and is also home to the Dr. Martin Luther King Community Center. There is a baseball field, basketball courts and children’s playground equipment. There is a paved walking path from the King Center around the entire park. There is also pavilion for picnics. Lake Ann Park is located on Sorrento Road off of Unexpected Road in the Lake Ann area of the Township. This park has swings, playground equipment and a basketball court.
