11th Annual Shredder Event

The 11th annual Shredder Event will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 10am.

The event will be held in the parking lot of the Municipal Complex, 890 Harding Highway, Buena, Rain or Shine.

This is the perfect time to securely dispose of sensitive documents.

Other items which can be dropped off during the event include small electric devices, clothing, accessories such as purses and shoes, unused prescription medication, and retired US flags.

Items that will not be accepted include newspapers, magazines, phonebooks, binders, and accordion folders, as well as rags, toys, scraps, and liquid medication.

All emptied boxes must be taken away once contents are disposed.

2025 National Night Out with Fireworks!

Get ready for an unforgettable evening at the Buena Vista Township National Night Out Celebration!

Come enjoy some summer fun and community spirit with a live DJ, tons of freebies, many explorable EMS vehicles, and a huge fireworks spectacle!

The Buena Vista Township Special Events Committee will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, snacks and beverages at the concession stand.

Mr. Softee will also be there with ice cream for sale.

It’s all happening at Michael Debbi Park in Richland from 5-9 on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

Let’s come together, meet our neighbors, and celebrate all the things that make our community strong.

American Red Cross Blood Drive

Our community thrives when we lift each other up, and giving blood is one of the most powerful ways to help those in need.

Buena Vista Township is proud to once again partner with The American Red Cross to make a difference.

Wednesday, October 1 from 2pm -7pm  we will be hosting a blood drive at the Municipal Complex, 890 Harding Highway, Buena.

Donors must visit RedCrossBlood.org to make an appointment.

2nd Annual Trunk or Treat at Michael Debbi Park

Our Trunk or Treat and Haunted Walk is back!

Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 6-8 pm at Michael Debbi Park in Richland.

Trick or treat through the fields and visit decorated cars and trucks. Enjoy a hay ride with your neighbors, and brave our haunted pathway through the woods if you dare.

Complimentary hot dog, beverage, and chips will be provided while supplies last.

This is a FREE event hosted by the consortium of Buena Vista Township Committees, and funded in part by its sponsors and donations received from the public.

Cookies with Mrs. Claus

Shhhhh… Mrs. Claus is sneaking away from the North Pole for a special treat just for the kids!

Join us for Cookies with Mrs. Claus, Saturday, December 6th, 2025 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Community Center, 661 Jacksonville Road, Newtonville.

The little ones will warm up with cookies and cocoa while enjoying a cheerful holiday craft. Then, Mrs. Claus herself will read the children a heartwarming story and give good listeners the chance to snap some pictures before she heads back to the sleigh.

This is a FREE event hosted by the consortium of Buena Vista Township Committees, and funded in part by its sponsors and donations received from the public. Give aways are available while supplies last and are not guaranteed. Free handouts are reserved for the first 50 guests under 10 years of age.

Memorial Day Ceremony – May 26th

Monday, May 26 at 11am, when we will unite as a community at the Municipal Building to remember, reflect, and show gratitude towards our countrymen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us.

Lets stand together to reflect on the strength these heroes have given to our community. We hope to see you all there.
